Response Labs will discuss their consumer research, operational support, and data-driven marketing consultation in the grocery and casual dining industries during COVID-19. One was forced overnight to keep up with record-breaking demand, while the other needed to change course to succeed in our new reality. 

Startup Success Stories: Responding to COVID

The spread of COVID has turned the world into a new reality, that has forced us to adapt quickly and adjust to new ways to living, working, and socializing. ETC President Deb Tillett will interview 3 AccelerateBaltimore graduates about their journey to creating products that are making a real difference in the way people are navigating these trying times. Panelists include Aaron Hsu of ClearMask, Sebastian Seiguer of emocha Mobile Health, and Eric Hamrock of StoCastic.

It's hard to fully understand the impact that COVID-19 has had on our communities with so much information circulating around. Dr. Lori Edwards will moderate a panel discussion with front line workers that are surrounded with the reality of a pandemic.

Building Access and Bridging Structural Divides

This panel will explore grassroots partnerships that formed in the COVID-19 pandemic to address immediate gaps in Baltimore city related to health and education. Attendees will learn about forming coalitions to identify gaps, address problems, and create functional teams working across organizations, as well as prospects for sustainability following the immediate crisis moment. Intended audience: Innovators oriented toward social and civic change.

HomeSafe1st.com™ Public Health is a COVID-19 Crisis Management Platform that helps cities be proactive by isolating and eradicating infectious diseases. We collect data through App interfaces and cloud based call centers via Amazon Connect to eliminate the COVID-19 virus with the help of AI systems.

This session is in collaboration with the University System of Maryland. This panel will cover 2 major topics:

1) Coppin State University's Impact study on Open Works' Rapid Response to the COVID-19 Pandemic. Featuring Dr. Ronald Williams, from Coppin State University, College of Business. 

2) Healthcare IT company (Stocastic) talks about their experience going through the new StarTUp Accelerator program offered by Towson University. Featuring, Eric Hamrock (Stocastic), Nick Culbertson (Protenus) and Patrick McQuown, Executive Director of Entrepreneurship at Towson university.

Please join us as we discuss the innovation happening around the Baltimore area. The audience will have a chance to ask their questions and hear more information on the topics.

In this session, investors will share the details of why, how, and when they invest and go beyond advice and mentoring to checks and access right here in Baltimore. From angel to institutional, startup founders and future entrepreneurs will gain an understanding of the path, plan, and milestones that make them a venture-backable company. 

Founders will leave with an understanding of what to look for in an investor and how to strategically build relationships now so that you’ve laid the foundation when it’s time to raise a round.
